Hi Jerry,
I hope you will forgive me for answering you personally but Yuri is a busy man ;) I did however chat to him to research my answer below, so please know that this reply comes with his blessing and personal input. Over the years experience has taught us that being burdened by extra and unnecessary equipment will sometimes cause us not being able to go the extra mile because it drains energy. Many photographers like to carry as many pieces of equipment as they can to feel prepared for any situation, but it's better to focus on versatility rather than quantity :)
We have created a standard 'shooting kit' that goes with us every time we leave the studio. This is what our kit holds:
* A Tamrac bag
* Reflector and defuser
* Fujifilm polaroid camera with spare film film - This is for on the spot model release forms, a must have tool for when you are shooting more than one model on a day
* Hood man
* Weatherman/multitool
* Cleaning kit
* Folder with notebook, pens, model & property release forms, stapler
* Camera of choice with a 128CF and spare batteries
* Last but certainly not least, the 'never leave home without' piece of equipment "The Yuri Arcurs Steady Pod" designed by Yuri himself and built by Custom Brackets. http://www.steady-pod.com
I sure hope this helps you to pack a little lighter and save a lot of energy that could be better spent on shooting time :)
Warm Regards,
Michelle
