Would you suggest uploading to more than one agency?

Hi Yuri!

I discovered your very useful website about microstocking and have read a lot that has been very interesting. I have been doing microstock as a hobby and "side-project" since 2005. I love the whole concept about microstocking and the passive income it renders when doing your hobby. I am still on a quite "low level" and want to develop my images and earnings. I have been loyal to iStock for a while and been exclusive for many years now.

I cant help to figure what my earnings would be if I went non-exclusive and uploaded my files on the other stock agencies. I have 240 files uploaded and have 2600 downloads in total. Thats probably an excuse why im not out shooting more often though. As is now, I'm earning between 100 and 200 dollars per month. How much do you reckon I could earn if I started selling on the other agencies? (Upload to say 4 other agencies.)
I have my best selling as E+ and my earnings would be 1/3 of what it is today if I went non-exclusive.

Hi Simon.
Glad you like my site. I am myself non-exclusive, but I submit images to many agencies. Right now I earn about the same amount on my exclusive images as I do on my non-exclusive, but it seems like iStock has dropped a bit lately. So this might actually be a good time for you to go non-exclusive. However, you would have to submit to a lot more than just 4 agencies. At least 10 of the really big ones, and it can become quite time consuming - especially if this is just your hobby. So if you don't want to end up spending a huge amount of time uploading to different agencies, I'd recommend that you stay exclusive with iStock. But I completely understand your thoughts about the site.
