How do you maintain a good relationship with employees?

Dear Yuri,

I really hope to get your answer on my question: I'm working to move my actual small business to something different. In particular I would like to work with microstock agencies.

I have only one question:

When I look for models, in the model release form should it mention that their image will be used in the stock market. I'm worried that the model can refuse or ask for a very high price because it's possible that her/his image should be used for something very important.

How much would a model charge me to do a shoot?

What is your approach?

Many thanks if you will be so kind to answer!
ciao

Hi Angela.
This is actually a very difficult subject, and it is one of the things we have to deal with all the time. It is true that a lot of models will charge extra for doing stock, but I will never recommend not telling the models what the images will be used for. That is not good business.

A model's fee depends very much on their skill level and experience, but for most shoots we do not pay our models more than $1000 each. Only if they are exceptionally skilled or the shoot is in some way special do we pay more.

Best Regards Yuri Arcurs
