How should I price my images?

I'm a beginner in photography, and I'd like to enter into the microstock industry. I don't know how to put a fair price on my photos though, and would like some advice . How do I decide what amount each image should be priced?

Hi George

There are very few online agencies that will let you price your images yourself. I used the microstock model where the agency prices your images instead of you doing it yourself. This means that your images will be sold at a very low price, but with the current market, it is unfortunately not realistic to sell your images at very high prices.

Even if you have several years of commercial experience, this is not worth much when you are starting out in microstock.

I would recommend using the standard microstock prices of the agency you are using. I see so many photographers who are very arrogant about their own skill level. They may indeed be extremely skilled, but in this business you have to sell excellent shots for almost nothing, and if you expect to be paid several hundred USD for each of your images, you won't last long. Sad, but true.
