Are MRs required for all people in an image?

Is it always necessary to to upload MRs for the background people who are extremely blurry?

It depends on the agency. Most agencies will say no, but a few want MRs (model releases) for ALL people present in the image.

In reality it will be impossible to sue somebody for using an image without a model release for someone who is blurred in the background because the person is not recognizable. Not even to friends and family. This means that no case would hold up in court.

This is also the standard you should be going for: If the person is recognizable to his or her friends and family, then you will need to upload a model release.
