importance of Asian [ sri lanka ] images to western media

Hi,
i intend to be a newbie to stock photos by sending photos.
but i have some questions
1. would a western designer need an Asian faces or images for their work ?
2. would i be successful in forwarding 'Asian' images ? would i get paid enough ?
