Any tips or tricks as to how you become successful as a microstock photographer?

Hey Yuri,

You probably get millions of these question a day. But I have recently graduated from a Photographic Technologies program in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, and I was just wondering if you have any tips/tricks that would help a new photographer get into stock photography as a living. Any advice would be greatly appreciated and greatly welcomed.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Cheers,
Trevor B.

Hi Trevor, I have tons! You are asking me to write a book here. Possibly even several books. :)

I once did an interview explaining a lot of things that new photographers seem to be missing a lot.
If you need further advice, I'd recommend you to read some of the articles on this site or on http://www.arcurs.com.

There are tons of interviews, reviews of photo gadgets, general advice and other stuff, and it is my goal that most of it will be essential knowledge for anybody out there wishing to be come a stock photographer.

We also host a stock photography boot camp every year. It's the perfect opportunity for young new photographers to familiarize themselves with the world of stock photographer and, at the same time, learn some of the basics of stock shooting. Keep an eye out for announcements on http://www.arcurs.com.

Otherwise please feel free to ask me more specific questions. This was a bit too general to supply you with a very good answer. :)

Best Regards
Yuri Arcurs
