Please, is it possible to have an image for free?
I am in the unfortunate position that I wrote a book, and my printer - unaware of the copyright laws - used one of your images on the book cover - A close up of a female doctor.
I request you kindly allow me the approval for it, as I am not in a position to afford your fees and don't want to breach the copyright law. I hope that you will understand my situation.

Hi Muhammad
Even though I understand the trouble you are in, I cannot give you permission to use the image. You are violating copy right laws and you are risking a law suit using an image without the proper license.
It's not because I don't want to give my images away but because I cannot give my images away without a license agreement, and a license agreement requires money to exchange hands.
I trust that you will find a solution to this problem. Maybe you can get someone to sponsor the image?

We are now offering a Late License: http://peopleimages.com/support/licenseAgreement/late_license
If the book has already been published, and you find yourself actually using our images illegally, you can buy this late license, and we will not follow up with legal consequences. We understand that misunderstandings do occur every now and then, and we wish to solve these as best as possible. Taking the legal route is not much fun for anyone. :)
